Japan and Malaysia Prime Ministers Discuss Middle East Crisis, Persian Gulf Security

The Prime Ministers of Japan and Malaysia held a phone call to address ongoing concerns in the Persian Gulf, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, amid the escalating Middle East crisis attributed to military actions by the United States and the Israeli regime in Iran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takayichi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim engaged in a phone conversation regarding the volatile situation in the Middle East. The discussion focused on security concerns within the Persian Gulf, with a particular emphasis on the Strait of Hormuz, following military incursions by the United States and the Israeli regime into Iranian territory.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the call via its X account, stating that Takayichi and Ibrahim exchanged views on the regional instability. Prime Minister Takayichi referenced a joint statement issued on March 19th concerning safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. He underscored the critical importance of international cooperation to swiftly de-escalate tensions, emphasizing the need to guarantee secure passage through the vital waterway.
