Qatar Discusses Pakistan Mediation, Lebanon Situation with Iranian Foreign Minister

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister held a phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister to discuss Pakistan’s mediation efforts and the evolving situation in Lebanon. Doha reiterated its support for a comprehensive agreement to resolve the ongoing crisis.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, engaged in a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran. The discussions focused on Pakistan’s mediation efforts and the developments in Lebanon.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement indicating that during the call, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar emphasized Doha’s support for reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the crisis. The statement further highlighted that Al Thani stressed the unshakeable and non-negotiable principle of freedom of navigation.

Furthermore, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the country’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister conveyed to Araghchi that utilizing the Strait of Hormuz as a pressure tool would escalate the crisis.
