Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri States Only Trump Can Force Israeli Ceasefire

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stated in an interview with The New York Times that no one other than U.S. President Donald Trump can establish a real ceasefire, and his direct involvement is the only way to achieve such an agreement. Berri highlighted that Hezbollah has an open and positive approach towards establishing a genuine ceasefire, and Trump is the only individual who can compel the Israeli regime to adhere to it.

The speaker further added that what is currently needed is the establishment of a ceasefire, whether this agreement is reached independently of the issue concerning Iran or in connection with it. Criticizing the Israeli regime’s unreliability, Berri noted that Israel desires negotiation but simultaneously continues its bombardments, which imposes a very heavy cost on Lebanon.
