US Senator Murphy Links Strait of Hormuz Blockade to American Military Action Against Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut declared during a Senate hearing that the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz is a direct outcome of American military action against Iran.
Addressing Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Senator Murphy questioned the rationale, stating, “The Strait of Hormuz was closed due to our decision to attack Iran, and this is a consequence of our military action.” He elaborated that the United States understood Iran would retaliate following military engagement.
Murphy emphasized that the primary concern for the American public is whether the vital waterway will be reopened. The U.S. and Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran has disrupted shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, impacting global supply chains for fuel, energy, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has indicated its readiness to guarantee shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz, provided a stable ceasefire is reached and the conflict concludes, adhering to necessary security protocols and considerations.
