Iraqi Prime Minister to Visit United States Mid-July

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi is scheduled to embark on his first international trip as premier to the United States in mid-July, aiming to forge a productive economic partnership and deepen strategic ties.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the official spokesperson for the Iraqi government, Haidar Al-Aboudi, announced that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi will travel to the United States in mid-July for his inaugural foreign visit as prime minister. This visit is aligned with the Iraqi government’s agenda and is structured around two primary objectives.

The first objective is to establish a productive economic partnership that will benefit the Iraqi people and support the nation’s developmental priorities. The second objective focuses on deepening the strategic relationship between Iraq and the United States, ensuring mutual interests are met, increasing trade and investment exchanges, and fostering Iraq’s economic growth.

The Iraqi government spokesperson also emphasized the administration’s policy of openness, cooperation, and the establishment of balanced partnerships with major global economies, asserting that Iraq should play a prominent role in trade and development within the Middle East.

Furthermore, Al-Aboudi highlighted the Al-Zaidi government’s policy of expanding diplomatic relations with regional and international entities, noting that Iraq’s foreign policy prioritizes strengthening ties with influential countries worldwide to broaden its international economic and political connections and foster understanding and coordination.
