Arab League Welcomes Iran-US Understanding, Emphasizes Regional Stability

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Council of the Arab League, in its meeting of foreign ministers in Amman, the capital of Jordan, concluded with the member states welcoming an understanding between Iran and the United States. The sessions were based on data published by the Mehr News Agency, quoting Al Mayadeen.
Ayman Safadi, the Foreign Minister of Jordan, stated at a press conference following the Arab League foreign ministers’ meeting in Amman, “We were not a party to this war, and we did not want this war to begin. We have always said that we desire good relations with Iran, and we continue to desire good relations with Iran.”
He added, “To achieve these relations, all reasons for previous tensions must be resolved.”
Safadi emphasized that all Arab League member states welcome the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, stressing the necessity for its progress towards a comprehensive solution for the crisis that resolves all causes of tension from the past period.
He further added, “For our region to enjoy security and stability, we must be candid and resolve all reasons for previous tensions.”
On the other hand, Abdullatif Al-Zayani, the Foreign Minister of Bahrain, emphasized that the memorandum of understanding is an important step for strengthening regional peace and stability. He underscored the importance of full adherence to its provisions for enhancing regional security and stability, preventing the consequences of destructive conflicts and wars in the region, and dedicating efforts to establish peace, development, and prosperity.
Al-Zayani stated that the objective is to achieve security, stability, and peace for all peoples of the region.
