Ukraine Strikes Power Plant in Kerch, Halving Crimea’s Electricity Supply

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a fierce blaze broke out on Tuesday at a thermal power plant in Kerch, Russia, after an attack attributed to Ukraine, causing a power outage in a large part of the Crimean Peninsula. Initial reports indicate that the target was a thermal power station located in the Arshyntsevo district of Kerch, Russia. Following the incident, a significant fire erupted at the power facility. Approximately half of Crimea is currently without power due to this event. Crimean state energy company Krymenergo has confirmed that Yevpatoria, Saki, Krasnoperekopsk, and Dzhankoy, along with the Krasnoperekopsk, Saki, Dzhankoy, and Krasnogvardeysky districts, are presently experiencing blackouts. The company stated that efforts are underway to address the consequences of the incident and to carry out reconstruction, with electricity restoration expected within the day.
