Lebanese President Aoun: Israel to Withdraw After Southern Lebanon Ceasefire Secured

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced that Israel will withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon following the establishment of a ceasefire. He stated that negotiations are ongoing in Washington and that the confirmation of border demarcation is awaiting Israeli approval.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated on Wednesday that negotiations between Beirut and Tel Aviv are currently underway in Washington, separate from the outcomes of the meetings in Switzerland between the United States and Iran.

President Aoun asserted that the delineation of border areas is still under consideration and awaits confirmation from Israel. Efforts are being made to secure a ceasefire in the southern region, after which Israeli forces are expected to withdraw.

He further claimed that statements issued by the President of Syria have been met with a positive reception, dispelling rumors regarding Syria’s military involvement in Lebanon.
