France Seizes Another Oil Tanker, Citing Maritime Law Violations

French naval forces have intercepted and seized a second oil tanker, the ‘Deliver’, operating near Sicily, for alleged violations of maritime law, following previous seizures of vessels linked to Russia.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French naval forces have apprehended another oil tanker, identified as the ‘Deliver’, which was reportedly navigating off the coast of Sicily in violation of maritime regulations. President Emmanuel Macron of France confirmed the seizure, stating the vessel originated from the Russian port of Murmansk in the northwest of the country.

The tanker ‘Deliver’, sailing under the flag of Cameroon, was en route to Singapore when it was intercepted on Tuesday. This action follows previous maritime interdictions by the French navy, including the seizure of the oil tanker ‘Tugor’ in the Atlantic Ocean and another vessel named ‘Dina’.

Russia has previously condemned the confiscation of foreign oil tankers by Western nations, characterizing such actions as acts of piracy.
