Lebanon-Israel Talks Extended for Another Day Amid Ongoing Negotiations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, negotiations between Lebanon and the Israeli regime have been extended, with both delegations scheduled to resume their meetings on Friday. An American official, speaking to Al Jazeera, claimed that Washington continues to facilitate these discussions, stating that talks between Lebanon and Israel are ongoing and suggesting an agreement is within reach.
Lebanon and the Israeli regime commenced their fifth round of direct negotiations on Tuesday, June 22, in Washington, involving political, security, and military delegations from both sides. Lebanon has emphasized its commitment to continuing direct negotiations as the sole pathway to ending the conflict with the Israeli regime, which began on March 2. This conflict has been ongoing between the Israeli regime and Hezbollah.
The current round of talks follows four previous sessions held since April that have not resulted in a permanent ceasefire or the withdrawal of the Israeli regime’s forces from occupied territories in southern Lebanon. Reports indicate the Israeli regime continues to violate the ceasefire and persist with its attacks on Lebanon.
