Lebanon and Israel Sign Framework Agreement in Washington

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a framework agreement for joint cooperation between Lebanon and Israel was signed in Washington, D.C., with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio present. The report, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, details the signing of this significant accord.
During the signing ceremony, Secretary Rubio stated, “The people of Lebanon deserve to live in security and peace. This is the beginning of the road, and there is still a long way to go.” He added that Israel and Lebanon reached this framework agreement after negotiations held in Washington.
The Lebanese Ambassador to Washington commented on the document, calling the framework agreement the first step on the path to regaining Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The Israeli Ambassador to Washington, seemingly disregarding the on-the-ground realities and the significant role of Hezbollah in Lebanon’s developments, as well as Iran’s support for the resistance and the Lebanese people, claimed that Iran and its proxies sought to divert them from the path of agreement. He asserted that Iran and Hezbollah are now out of the game.
