Afghanistan Conducts Drone Strikes on ISIS Positions Inside Pakistan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Afghan sources have reported that Afghanistan has initiated drone strikes against the positions of the ISIS-K terrorist group within Pakistani soil. The operations were reportedly concentrated, with drones targeting headquarters and elements of ISIS that were allegedly planning attacks into Afghanistan.
This development follows air raids conducted by the Pakistani army on three Afghan provinces, which the interim Afghan government stated resulted in dozens of casualties, including 36 civilians. Pakistan claims its strikes were aimed at splinter groups of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were a response to a recent attack in Karachi and other security incidents in border regions.
Islamabad has consistently accused the interim Afghan government of harboring TTP elements, an accusation that Kabul has denied. Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been strained since the Taliban regained control in 2021. Despite mediation efforts by countries like China, disputes between the two sides persist. Border crossings have largely remained closed due to heightened tensions, significantly disrupting trade between the two nations.
