Former Arab League Chief Amr Moussa Defends Iran’s ‘Intelligent Resistance’ Against US

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Amr Moussa, the former Secretary-General of the Arab League, has responded to criticism from some officials and media figures in Persian Gulf Arab countries regarding his positions on Iran. In an interview with the podcast “Qarari Ma’ Lamis,” Moussa stated that it should not be assumed that all Persian Gulf countries hold a uniform stance against him, noting that a significant portion of the reactions originated from social media.
Moussa acknowledged the criticisms from figures such as Abdulrahman Al-Rashed and Anwar Gargash, describing them as respectful and indicating his intention to discuss the matter with them in future meetings. Elaborating on his remarks about Iran’s “intelligent resistance,” the former Arab League chief clarified that he was referring to Iran’s approach in dealing with the United States and the “Zionist regime,” an ally of Washington, which formed the core of his statement.
He simultaneously emphasized his long-standing position that any attack on any of the Arab countries in the Persian Gulf would be considered an attack on all Arab nations. Moussa also dismissed the notion of any divergence with the Persian Gulf Arab states, asserting that differences of opinion should not undermine the fraternal relations between Arab countries and that space should exist for the expression of differing viewpoints.
