Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel States U.S. Embargo Aims to Incite Social Unrest

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, “Miguel Díaz-Canel,” President of Cuba, announced that the U.S. embargo and sanctions against the country have reached an intolerable level. He added that the aim of this blockade is to create social unrest in Cuba. The Cuban President also stated that Havana will once again raise the issue of lifting sanctions at the United Nations General Assembly. He specified that Cuba submits a draft resolution to the UN General Assembly every year, calling for an end to the U.S. commercial and economic blockade against the country, a blockade that has persisted for over 60 years. The Cuban President concluded by noting that this resolution typically enjoys the decisive support of the majority of UN member states, but it holds a non-binding and advisory nature.
