Iraq to Maintain Public Movement During Martyr Khamenei’s Funeral Procession

Security officials in Iraq have announced that there will be no general restrictions on public movement during the funeral procession for the ‘martyred leader of Iran,’ Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, though temporary traffic diversions will be in place along the procession route.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Security Media Cell chief, Saad Maan, announced on Friday that no public movement ban or restrictions will be imposed nationwide during the funeral ceremonies for the “martyred leader of Iran,” Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. Temporary traffic limitations will be confined solely to the routes traversed by the procession in the provinces of Karbala and Najaf Ashraf.

Maan emphasized that throughout the entire duration of the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei in Iraq, citizens will face no restrictions on their movement. Only specific traffic arrangements and measures will be implemented for the streets and pathways designated for the passage of the honored body during the procession.

He further clarified that these minor restrictions will be solely enforced within the provinces of Karbala and Najaf Ashraf, tailored to the roads, locations, and schedules determined by the High Committee for Organizing the Funeral Ceremonies.

Maan also noted that a unified security and service plan has been developed, involving various ministries, organizations, and security and service agencies, to provide the necessary infrastructure and facilities for participants in the ceremonies.

Concluding his remarks, the head of Iraq’s Security Media Cell urged citizens, religious institutions, Husseini processions, and participating delegations to fully adhere to the established directives and security recommendations that will be issued by the relevant authorities. He called for their cooperation with security forces and service personnel to ensure the grandest possible success of the ceremonies.
