Tehran Universities Prepare to Host Mourners for Martyr Leader’s Farewell Ceremony

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, universities and higher education centers in Tehran are preparing to host mourners, students, and pilgrims for the farewell and funeral procession of the Martyr Leader. These preparations include readiness to accommodate guests, establish service booths, organize cultural and religious events, and provide support services.
Various Tehran universities have announced extensive plans for receiving and serving guests attending the ceremony.
Amirkabir University of Technology
Amirkabir University of Technology will begin accommodating guests on Thursday, with capacity for approximately 2,500 male and female guests within the university. Service booths will be set up both inside and outside the campus, involving participation from staff and student unions, as well as the Basij forces. Evening mourning ceremonies, featuring eulogies and speeches, will be held nightly after the Maghrib and Isha prayers at the university’s main entrance.
Tehran University of Medical Sciences
Tehran University of Medical Sciences is establishing a 150-bed hospital at the Mosalla (prayer grounds) to provide medical services to ceremony attendees. The university will also operate four service booths at various locations, including near Haft-e Tir Square, Enqelab Square, Towhid Square, and Azadi Street. Dormitories are being activated for temporary accommodation, with plans to house 1,500 students for three days. Additionally, 16 hospitals are on standby.
Sharif University of Technology
Sharif University of Technology will commence guest reception on Friday night, anticipating accommodation for around 2,000 individuals. Congregational prayers and cultural programs will take place within the university, with food preparation undertaken with student involvement.
University of Tehran
The University of Tehran has projected accommodation for approximately 1,000 guests, preparing its mosque and Mosalla facilities for lodging and cultural activities. Guest reception is scheduled to begin on Sunday, with cultural programs planned to be held on campus.
Iran University of Science and Technology
Iran University of Science and Technology will start receiving guests on Saturday, with peak attendance expected on Sunday. The university mosque, campus grounds, and dormitories are designated for guest accommodation. The university has arranged for 4,000 guests, including 3,000 Iranian and 1,000 international visitors. Plans include preparing 7,000 meals and distributing 3,000 meals at nearby mosques. Other activities include setting up three service booths, organizing cultural programs at accommodation sites, hosting preachers, and holding congregational prayers and nightly mourning gatherings.
Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch
Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, has prepared its mosque and university blocks to accommodate 2,500 guests, starting Saturday morning. The branch will establish two service booths in the Qanbarzadeh and Eskandari areas, with lecture and eulogy sessions to follow noon and evening prayers at the university mosque.
Shahed University
Shahed University will host approximately 1,500 male guests from the Isfahan province. A student service booth will be operational on campus, and a larger booth will be located near the shrine’s toll gate to serve pilgrims.
Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences
Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences will begin guest reception on Friday, with plans to accommodate 1,500 males and 1,000 females. Some female accommodations will be at the nursing and pharmacy faculties. The university will set up a booth on campus and another at the Mosalla, establish a field hospital at the Mosalla, and organize lectures and eulogies post-prayer.
Tehran Farhangian University
Tehran Farhangian University has prepared accommodation for 10,000 individuals for three days, with guest reception commencing on July 3. The schedule includes congregational prayers, utilization of preacher services, and brief mourning ceremonies. The Shahed-e Mekka, Shahid Chamran, Shahid Beheshti, and Shahid Motahhari faculties are designated for male guests.
Islamic Azad University, Tehran Province
Islamic Azad University, Tehran Province, has arranged accommodation for 20,000 guests, with reception starting Saturday morning. Service booths will be set up both inside and outside university units. The university will also conduct cultural programs on campuses and has planned for 7 service booths across the province and 15 in Tehran.
Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch
Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch, anticipates accommodating 3,000 guests. The Technical Complex on South Naderi Street and the beginning of Damavand Street are designated for temporary lodging. Lectures and eulogies will follow prayers, and three of the university’s service booths will operate side-by-side on 17th Shahrivar Street to serve ceremony participants.
Tehran University of Art
Tehran University of Art will set up two stations for spiritual and service provision to mourners. These booths will be located on Motahari Street, mid-Aliakbari Alley, at the corner of Sahhaf-zadeh Alley on Saturday and Sunday, July 4 and 5. On Monday, July 6, the university’s booth will be at the intersection of Vali-e Asr Square, Shahid Balavoor Street, adjacent to the university’s growth center building.
Al-Zahra University
Al-Zahra University will host 1,200 female academics, having prepared the necessary facilities for their reception and accommodation.
University of Rehabilitation and Social Welfare Sciences
The University of Rehabilitation and Social Welfare Sciences will accommodate 700 pilgrims, with 200 guests staying on campus and 500 housed in an external hospital.
K. N. Toosi University of Technology
K. N. Toosi University of Technology, under the auspices of the Supreme Leader’s Representative Office in Universities, will host 10,000 pilgrims. Accommodation is planned across four campuses: Hazrat Vali-e Asr (AJ) with a capacity of 3,000, Mulla Sadra with 2,000, Elm va San’at with 1,000, and Seyed Khandan with 1,200 for members of the national student Basij. An additional capacity for 4,000 members of the general public is also anticipated.
Allameh Tabataba’i University
Allameh Tabataba’i University is among the host universities for the Martyr Leader’s farewell and funeral ceremony, with accommodation arranged for 1,500 students and necessary facilities provided for their reception and service.
Islamic Azad University, Yadegar-e-Emam Khomeini (RA) Branch
Islamic Azad University, Yadegar-e-Emam Khomeini (RA) Branch, will host 4,000 pilgrims of the Martyr Imam. This capacity includes three-day accommodation and catering with three meals for 2,000 female students and 2,000 general public male pilgrims. Plans include a student service booth opposite the university entrance on the Tehran-Qom highway, the presence of religious preachers and eulogists of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), congregational prayers, supplication ceremonies, mourning sessions, Dua-e-Ahd, and Ashura Ziyarat. Student organizations will also participate in volunteer services, and a student media committee will be formed.
Tarbiat Modares University
Tarbiat Modares University will host guests for the Martyr Leader’s farewell and funeral ceremony starting Friday, with an anticipated capacity of 3,000 guests. The university will host guests from Ilam and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces, and will be responsible for cooking and providing meals. Cultural programs, including film screenings, religious gatherings, congregational prayers, and speeches, along with service booths at the Mosalla and along the funeral route, and utilization of facilities from Arbaeen service booths, are among the planned activities.
Shahid Beheshti University
This university will host guests for the Martyr Leader’s farewell and funeral ceremony for three days, with a capacity of 1,600 individuals. The primary focus of accommodation will be for students, with the university also responsible for catering and meals. Cultural programs are also scheduled during the hosting period.
National Skills University
In solidarity with other Tehran academic centers, the National Skills University has prepared accommodation for 420 guests attending the Martyr Leader’s farewell and funeral ceremony. In addition to lodging and catering, the university has planned cultural programs, including speeches and mourning ceremonies, for the duration of the pilgrims’ stay.
