Kurdistan Region President Barzani Praises Late Iranian Leader’s Historic Role

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, as reported by Shafaq News citing Mehr News Agency, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, emphasized that the wise guidance of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the developments of Iran and the region will remain etched in history.

Following his attendance at the farewell ceremony for the late Iranian leader, Barzani posted on a social media network, stating: “During the farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei, the leader of Iran, I paid my respects to his body and expressed the deep sympathy of myself and the people of the Kurdistan Region with the people of Iran.”

Barzani added: “His wise guidance and historic role in the developments of Iran and the region will remain permanently in history.”

The President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq stated: “We believe that mutual understanding and respect, and continuous constructive dialogue are the best ways to achieve lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.”

Barzani concluded by saying: “The long-term relations and deep bonds between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Iran have always held a special place, and we believe that maintaining and developing these relations is in line with bilateral cooperation, serving mutual interests, and consolidating regional peace and stability.”
