Azerbaijan Summons Russian Ambassador Over Drone Attack on SOCAR Gas Facility in Ukraine

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan summoned Mikhail Yudokimov, the Russian Ambassador, on Monday to express its strong protest against a drone attack on the “SOCAR” company’s gas station in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. Mehr News Agency reported this, citing Azernews.
In a statement released regarding the matter, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that Baku, during the meeting, expressed severe discontent over the July 5th attack and formally handed over a diplomatic protest note to the Russian side.
The ministry claimed that the aforementioned attack was not an isolated incident, asserting that SOCAR facilities in Ukraine had been targeted previously during ongoing conflicts. These incidents reportedly included attacks on a gas distribution compressor station and an oil depot in Odesa, which resulted in significant material damage and injuries to company personnel.
The Republic of Azerbaijan alleged that the recurrence of such events, despite repeated warnings, indicates that these attacks were carried out intentionally.
