Gaza Health Ministry Director Calls for Urgent Hospital Reconstruction Amidst Health Crisis

The Director-General of Gaza’s Ministry of Health has declared the reconstruction of hospitals an urgent priority, highlighting the dire health situation and the critical need for medical supplies and international support.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Munir Al-Barsh, has emphasized that the resignation of the emergency committee paves the way for the national committee’s activities, reflecting an understanding of the sensitive stage Gaza is currently experiencing.

Al-Barsh stated that the ball is now in the court of mediators and international supporters to successfully navigate the next phase. He noted that Gazans have endured a thousand days of war, living between death and life, witnessing humanity at its weakest yet demonstrating the highest levels of resilience.

The Director-General also appealed for the rescue of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, stating that he is seeking help from the free world and his life is in danger. Al-Barsh stressed that the reconstruction and rehabilitation of hospitals are an urgent priority, requiring the entry of medical equipment, fuel, and necessary facilities into Gaza, and the opening of crossings for the transfer of the wounded.

He announced that over 20,000 wounded individuals are awaiting treatment outside Gaza, while more than 1,500 patients have lost their lives waiting for transfer for medical care. Al-Barsh concluded by warning that the Israeli regime, by preventing the entry of food, medicine, and essential supplies for maternal and child care, has caused an unprecedented deterioration of the health situation in the Gaza Strip.
