Iran’s IRGC Closes Strait of Hormuz Indefinitely Amidst U.S. Intervention

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iran’s IRGC Navy has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed until further notice, stating the closure will persist as long as the United States engages in interventions within the sensitive waterway. The announcement followed an incident where several ships allegedly attempted to navigate through non-approved routes despite warnings.
In a prior statement, the IRGC had warned that foreign interference and the arbitrary designation of shipping lanes within the Strait of Hormuz would result in a firm response and disrupt maritime traffic. The latest announcement claims these warnings were disregarded, leading to a confrontation.
The IRGC Navy reported that a vessel, which had allegedly endangered maritime security by disabling its navigation systems, was subjected to warning shots and subsequently halted. Following this event, the IRGC cited the resulting insecurity, attributed to what it termed illegal foreign intervention, as the reason for closing the Strait of Hormuz. The declaration specifies that no vessels will be permitted to transit the waterway.
Furthermore, the IRGC issued a stern warning that any new transgressions or hostile actions by the enemy, particularly the United States, under the pretext of this incident, which they claim the U.S. instigated, will be met with a severe response. The corps indicated that new enemy bases in the region would be targeted.
The IRGC placed responsibility for the consequences of such interventions on the American-Zionist enemy and the countries that have permitted their territories to be used as bases for these threats. The statement concluded with a religious invocation, attributing victory to God.
