Unprecedented European Heatwave Claims Over 10,000 Lives

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, European countries have recorded over 10,000 deaths in response to an exceptional heatwave that impacted the continent in late June. Data published by Mehr News Agency, referencing Al Jazeera, highlights the severity of the situation.
Experts have stated that this heatwave, which persisted from June 20th to June 28th, represents the most severe recorded in Europe. Beyond the thousands of casualties, it disrupted electricity production, damaged infrastructure, and placed significant strain on healthcare systems.
In France, concerning the escalating heat, weather warnings were issued on Sunday for more than a third of the nation’s population. This has heightened anxieties regarding the potential spread of wildfires that could threaten the country.
Approximately 26 million French citizens found themselves under a red alert, the highest level of warning issued by Météo-France, the national meteorological service. This third intense heatwave to affect France in the past two months is forecast to continue until the middle of next week.
