Shipping Traffic Halts in Strait of Hormuz Amid Escalated Tensions

Shipping movements in the Strait of Hormuz have reportedly come to a near-complete standstill this morning, following recent U.S. actions in the region that Iran claims have heightened insecurity and instability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Bloomberg reported today that maritime data indicates a near-total cessation of vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz as of Tuesday morning.

Recent incursions by the United States in the Strait of Hormuz area have led to increased insecurity and instability, the report noted.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized that vessels must transit the Strait of Hormuz via safe corridors designated by Tehran.

Yesterday, Iran’s foreign minister discussed the imposed insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz during a phone call with his Cypriot counterpart. He stated that this insecurity is a direct consequence of military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran.
