China Offers to Mediate De-escalation in Persian Gulf Amid US Tensions

Beijing has expressed its readiness to assist in de-escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and the broader West Asia region, following recent U.S. actions against Iran. A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for rational restraint from all parties involved to prevent a resurgence of conflict.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China is prepared to contribute to de-escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and West Asia. Lin Jian, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement on Tuesday addressing recent U.S. provocations against Tehran.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated, “We are ready to help de-escalate tensions in West Asia and the Persian Gulf.” Expressing concern over the resumption of military conflicts in the Persian Gulf, which began with the recommencement of illegal U.S. aggression into Iranian territory, Lin Jian urged all parties to act with rationality and restraint.

“We call on all parties to exercise rationality and restraint, protect the achieved peace, and prevent the resumption of conflicts,” she added. The Chinese official further stated, “Beijing is ready to make unremitting efforts to reduce tensions and stabilize the situation in West Asia and the Persian Gulf.”
