Yemen Announces Maritime Blockade Against Saudi Arabia in Response to Ongoing Siege
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced that the ongoing “unjust siege” by Saudi Arabia against the Yemeni people, which has lasted for nearly 12 years, would now be met with a reciprocal maritime blockade. Saree stated that the Saudi “criminal enemy” has been continuing its unjust blockade and plundering of Yemeni resources for close to 12 years.
He emphasized that the Saudi blockade is unacceptable and unbearable, and the Yemeni people cannot endure it passively. In line with the principle of “blockade for blockade,” Yemen is now imposing a maritime ban on the Saudi enemy. Saree confirmed that this naval blockade against Saudi Arabia is entering its executive phase immediately, asserting Yemen’s right to counter the blockade with its own measures and to meet “all-out escalation with all-out escalation.”
The spokesperson stressed that Yemeni forces are prepared for all scenarios and will confront any extensive escalation by Saudi Arabia with comprehensive and severe responses. He called upon the Yemeni people to continue with general mobilization and to remain fully ready for all potential developments, urging them to support the fighters on the front lines. Saree also extended greetings to the Yemeni people for their unprecedented turnout at the “Warning and Mobilization” million-strong rally. He assured the public that all efforts would be made to reclaim their rights and end the “oppressive blockade,” regardless of the consequences.
