The death toll from severe flooding in India’s northeastern Assam state has risen to 31, with an additional 21 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours alone. The deluge has affected approximately 700,000 residents and left three individuals missing.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the number of victims from floods in India’s Assam state has reached 31 people following intense rainfall. This information was released by Mehr News Agency, citing Anatolia.
Local media reports indicate that the Assam State Disaster Management Authority issued a statement confirming that 21 more individuals lost their lives due to the floods over the past day.
The statement further detailed that the recent flood casualties in the state have now accumulated to a total of 31 deaths. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, stated that roughly 700,000 residents of the state have been impacted by the floods, and three people remain unaccounted for.
