US Central Command Disputes Iranian Claims of Control Over Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has disputed assertions made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, stating that claims of control over the entrance and exit of the Strait of Hormuz are inaccurate. This statement comes despite reports from companies monitoring maritime traffic in the strait indicating a near-complete halt in transit.

CENTCOM further asserted that Iran does not dominate the Strait of Hormuz and that the waterway will remain open for vessel passage, notwithstanding what it termed “threats and attacks by the IRGC.” The command stated that commercial ships continue to transit the Strait of Hormuz with the support of the U.S. military.

Additionally, CENTCOM claimed that since early May, U.S. forces have assisted over 900 vessels in traversing the Strait of Hormuz.
