Erdogan: Turkey and Austria Can Forge Strategic Cooperation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer held discussions on Monday at the Beştepe Complex in Ankara. The meeting, reported by Mehr News Agency citing Russia Today, focused on enhancing bilateral ties and exploring areas of mutual interest.

President Erdogan highlighted Turkey‘s significant capacity for collaboration with Austria in crucial sectors such as green energy, critical minerals, advanced technologies, transportation, and defense industries. He expressed a strong belief in the ability of both nations to implement joint strategic cooperation initiatives aimed at bolstering the “Middle Corridor” transport route.

Furthermore, Erdogan addressed the actions of the European Union, emphasizing that progress on the modernization of the customs union and visa liberalization negotiations would be beneficial for all parties involved. He reiterated the potential for synergistic strategic partnerships with Austria that would further fortify the Middle Corridor.

In response, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer conveyed appreciation for Turkey’s efforts and President Erdogan’s role in seeking resolutions to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
