Triple Fatalities and 18 Injured in Two Separate Shootings Across the United States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local officials announced that three people were killed and 18 were injured following widespread shootings that occurred last night in Chicago and Trenton, New Jersey.
Based on a statement from the Chicago Police Department provided to ABC News on Sunday, a shooting took place in a crowded park on the south side of Chicago late Saturday afternoon as police were present and attempting to disperse a large gathering.
Police stated that the incident occurred around 11:37 p.m. local time within Washington Park, in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Police and ambulance services were dispatched to the scene of the shooting at Washington Park in Chicago on August 29, 2026. The incident left one person dead and nine injured.
Authorities reported that a 35-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to various parts of his body and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, the other nine victims of the shooting, including five men and four women aged between 23 and 45, received treatment at area hospitals.
No arrests had been announced by that time. Police indicated that more than one assailant may have been involved in the shooting.
Officials stated that the motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and no police officers were injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, approximately 800 miles from Chicago, police responded to a similar mass shooting in the early hours of Sunday in a residential area of Trenton, New Jersey.
The Trenton Police Department issued a statement confirming that at least two people were killed and nine others were injured. This shooting took place on Locust Street, in the city’s south end Greenwood and Hamilton neighborhood.
Police reported that officers were dispatched to the scene around 12:25 a.m. Eastern Time following emergency calls to 911 reporting the sound of multiple gunshots in the area.
The nine surviving victims of the shooting are being treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, though no information regarding their medical condition has been released.
