Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan Launch First Joint Defense Committee Meeting in Istanbul

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the first session of the political and defense strategic committee, established under the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, commenced in Istanbul on Monday. Senior representatives from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan gathered for this pivotal meeting. Notably, Saudi Arabia’s delegation was led by Prince Khalid bin Salman, the Minister of Defense, who was accompanied by Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other high-ranking military officials. The attendees also included the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Chiefs of Staff of the armed forces from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan.

The discussions are anticipated to focus on enhancing defense capabilities and interoperability among the three nations’ armed forces. Furthermore, the agenda includes deepening collaboration within the defense industry, encompassing joint production and development initiatives. This strategic alignment follows the signing of the Mecca agreement earlier this month, which commits the three countries to mutual defense in the event of an attack on any one of them.
