Iraq Registers Saudi Attack on Hashd al-Shaabi Positions with UN

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi government has officially documented Saudi Arabia’s attack on Hashd al-Shaabi positions and registered the issue with the United Nations.

The spokesperson for the Iraqi government, Haider Al-Aboudi, announced that the government has compiled evidence of the Saudi Arabian military’s assault on Hashd al-Shaabi forces. This documentation has been formally submitted to the United Nations.

The Saudi Arabian armed forces and the U.S. military’s CENTCOM conducted airstrikes against Hashd al-Shaabi sites in Iraq on July 29th. Riyadh claimed these attacks were a response to drone strikes targeting oil facilities and were carried out under the “right to self-defense.”

Hashd al-Shaabi described the attacks as “terrorist” and reported that at least 20 individuals were martyred and 32 others wounded. Several Iranian military advisors were among those killed in these terrorist assaults.

The Iraqi government had previously stated it had no prior knowledge of the attack and tasked the Prime Minister’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with pursuing the matter and presenting it to the UN Security Council.
