Yemen: Saudi Mercenaries Rushed to Taiz Amidst Yemeni Advances

Saudi Arabia has reportedly deployed a large number of forces to Yemen’s Taiz province as Yemeni army and Houthi forces advance towards the port of Al-Hudaydah. This move follows significant gains by Yemeni troops in Taiz, which have resulted in casualties and retreats among Saudi-backed fighters.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, in response to the Yemeni army and Ansarullah forces consolidating control over vast areas in Taiz province and pushing towards the port of Al-Hudaydah, the Saudi-aligned Yemeni government has initiated a significant troop transfer into the region. This development comes after Yemeni forces made substantial advances in Taiz province, resulting in the death or injury of several high-ranking Saudi mercenary commanders, with many reportedly fleeing the conflict.

Reports indicate that Yemeni forces are currently advancing towards the port of Al-Hudaydah following a large-scale counter-offensive against Saudi mercenary positions. Al Jazeera had previously reported an escalation in fighting in Taiz after attacks by the Yemeni army and popular committees targeted Saudi mercenary strongholds in the province.
