Nepal Flood Death Toll Climbs to 1,287, Thousands Missing
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the death toll from recent floods in Nepal has tragically reached 1,287, with 5,083 individuals still unaccounted for. These figures were released by Nepal’s National Disaster Management Authority, as reported by Al Jazeera via the Mehr News Agency.
The scale of devastation left by the lethal floods in Nepal has been described as catastrophic by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Preliminary reports from the ICRC indicate that approximately 100,000 people have been affected by the disaster.
Earlier this week, the Nepalese government had issued warnings about the potential for new flooding. Residents in flood-prone areas were urged to remain on high alert following a rise in water levels in the Bhotekoshi River.
