Kushner: Washington and Tel Aviv Share Consensus on Gaza Objectives

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Special Envoy Jared Kushner indicated that the United States government is only now comprehending the full implications of the military strategy in the Gaza Strip, labeling it as “beyond imagination” and a significant hurdle for disarmament efforts. Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, Ukraine, Kushner alleged that the U.S. had engaged with Hamas for over four months, during which the group reportedly signed an agreement committing to disarmament and de-escalation.

Regarding coordination with Israel, Kushner elaborated that Washington and Tel Aviv are in agreement on the “ultimate objective” for the Gaza Strip, although certain pending political matters require resolution. He attributed some of the current coordination complexities to the internal political landscape in the occupied territories, noting that “they have a crazy election, and this makes them act somewhat irrationally in some aspects, but we are very determined and continue our work to resolve these issues.”

These remarks come amid an intensive diplomatic push by Kushner and Steve Witkoff, which recently included visits to Moscow and Kyiv as part of renewed U.S. involvement in international affairs, purportedly to advance regional peace initiatives, including the conflict in Ukraine and the Palestinian issue.

Kushner’s emphasis on the disarmament of the resistance aligns with recent stated positions from the United States and Israel. These positions stipulate the end of any group’s military dominance in the Gaza Strip as a prerequisite for any reconstruction plans or sustainable political solutions. This visit occurs as the current U.S. administration seeks to generate necessary diplomatic momentum to resolve interconnected crises in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
