UAE Seeks Defense and AI Cooperation with Germany Amid Global Threats

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, has stated that the UAE is seeking to bolster cooperation with Germany in the defense sector and artificial intelligence. This development comes ahead of a multi-day official visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to Berlin.
In an interview with the German news agency, Gargash emphasized the current opportune moment for elevating the significant bilateral relationship between the two nations. He pointed to the potential for joint efforts in countering drone threats, citing recent conflicts. “The war in Ukraine and the war with Iran showed that the world is not sufficiently prepared to deal with missiles and drones,” Gargash remarked. He added that Germany understands that future missions will not necessarily resemble past ones.
Gargash also highlighted the UAE’s strong interest in artificial intelligence. The UAE President is scheduled to arrive in Germany for his official visit, during which he will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and several other German officials.
