Pakistan Deems Yemen’s Operations Against Saudi Arabia as Trigger for Mecca Agreement

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that his country is obligated to support Saudi Arabia under the Mecca Agreement, emphasizing that Yemen’s military operations against the Kingdom will activate this pact.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has asserted that the nation is bound by the Mecca Agreement to support Saudi Arabia, dispelling any doubts about this commitment. Speaking in a press conference, Asif elaborated that the agreement stipulates any armed aggression against one member state is considered an act of aggression against all signatories.

Asif further stated that the military actions undertaken by Yemeni forces against Saudi Arabia would necessitate the activation of the Mecca Agreement. This development comes amidst ongoing operations by Yemeni armed forces, which they maintain are in response to Saudi Arabia’s aggressive actions over the past 12 years.

Yemeni forces have repeatedly called for an end to Saudi aggression and the lifting of the blockade on Yemen, while also demonstrating a resolute response. Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia has conducted over 30 bombing raids on various Yemeni provinces in recent hours alone.
