Canada Imposes Sanctions on Eight Russian Officials Over Ukraine Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Canada has added eight Russian citizens to its sanctions list. The sanctioned individuals include Grigory Gorov, head of the “Rosmolodezh” youth agency, and Alexander Kurenkov, Russia’s Minister of Emergency Situations, according to a statement released by Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement indicated that Canada has imposed new sanctions on eight individuals under the Special Economic Measures Regulations. The list of sanctioned persons also encompasses Elena Milskaia, chairwoman of the board of trustees for the National Center for Assistance to Missing and Abused Children, and Artur Orlov, chairman of the board of the “Movement of the First.” Other notable figures are also included in the sanctions.

Canada alleged that these sanctions are linked to the conflict in Ukraine and the “unlawful deportation” of children.
