Suez Canal Suffers $11 Billion Loss Amidst Bab el-Mandeb Shipping Disruptions
Egypt’s Foreign Minister announced that shipping disruptions in the Bab el-Mandeb strait have resulted in an $11 billion loss for the Suez Canal. He also emphasized the need to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz for uninterrupted international trade and energy supply.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Suez Canal has incurred losses amounting to $11 billion due to shipping challenges in the Bab el-Mandeb strait. This information was released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by Mehr News Agency, citing Anatolia news agency.
During a press conference, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated that ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is crucial to maintain the flow of international trade and energy supplies without disruption. He further addressed developments in Palestine, stressing that Israel’s actions, particularly settlement expansion, must cease as they undermine opportunities for achieving peace.
