NATO Scrambles Fighter Jet After Drone Sighting Over Lithuania

A NATO fighter jet was scrambled from a base in northern Lithuania following reports of a suspected drone in the country’s airspace. The incident led to a temporary halt in flights at Vilnius International Airport.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a NATO fighter jet was dispatched after a potential drone sighting in Lithuanian airspace. The Lithuanian Crisis Management Center reported that at least one NATO fighter aircraft took off in response to the suspected drone presence. This fighter jet launched from a military base located in the northern part of Lithuania.

Earlier, a source from the Vilnius Airspace Information Region Control Center, responsible for monitoring air traffic over Lithuania, informed TASS that Vilnius International Airport had temporarily suspended inbound and outbound flights. This precautionary measure was taken after unidentified drones were detected in the sky.
