Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Discusses Syria Relations, Regional Stability

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Sunday that relations between Syria and Turkey have seen unprecedented progress over the past two years. Discussions were held in Damascus regarding an upcoming visit by President Erdoğan to Syria.

Fidan described the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) announcement of their dissolution as an important and positive step, emphasizing that its practical implementation on the ground is equally crucial. He also asserted that Israel consistently targets Syria’s stability, an action that benefits terrorist groups in the region, and that Israeli policies represent the primary obstacle to Syria’s stability.

The Turkish Foreign Minister further commented that regional and global economies faced a crisis in the aftermath of events in the Strait of Hormuz.
