China Calls for Diplomatic Resolution to US Conflict with Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China is calling for a diplomatic end to the conflict between the United States and Iran. This position was articulated by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Mao Ning, during a weekly press briefing, shortly after a report from the Pentagon’s Inspector General highlighted critical ammunition deficits stemming from the prolonged U.S. military engagement.

Mao Ning stated that Beijing is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region, expressing hope that all parties involved will resolve their differences through political and diplomatic channels. The spokesperson emphasized China’s belief in peaceful conflict resolution and de-escalation.

These remarks coincide with the release of the first report by the Pentagon’s Inspector General, which indicates that the ammunition expended during the four-month U.S. conflict with Iran has led to a deficit in U.S. strategic reserves. The report further exposes challenges within the nation’s defense industrial capacity, noting that increasing ammunition production capacity will require substantial time.

Key deficiencies identified in the report include shortages of solid rocket motors, high-quality explosives and propellants, and a lack of skilled labor within the manufacturing sector. These issues underscore the strain placed on U.S. defense supply chains by sustained military operations.
