US Central Command Claims Intervention in 103 Commercial Vessels’ Passage Through Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed to have altered the course of 103 commercial vessels since Iran resumed its maritime blockade. This claim, based on data reported by Al Mayadeen network, suggests a significant intervention in maritime traffic through the crucial Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. re-initiated its maritime blockade against Iran on July 14, 2026, and initially reported forcing dozens of commercial ships to change direction. CENTCOM’s latest assertion now escalates this number to 103 vessels.

Despite the ongoing maritime blockade imposed by the United States, Iran continues to assert its authority over the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian authorities have previously declared that vessels failing to adhere to the regulations and protocols governing this strategic waterway will face a response from Iran’s armed forces.
