Turkish Foreign Minister Calls for Diplomatic Resolution to Iran Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Tuesday that the crisis involving Iran and the region must be resolved through diplomacy. Speaking at a joint press conference in Baku following a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Fidan highlighted the close connection between developments in neighboring Iran and both Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Fidan asserted that the security, stability, and prosperity of Iran inherently have a direct impact on their region. He expressed a desire for the swift resolution of existing disputes through diplomatic channels, noting that recent retaliatory attacks are significantly harming peace efforts. These actions, he argued, are increasing regional tensions and must cease immediately.

Without directly referencing the United States’ actions, Fidan called for the assurance of safe, uninterrupted, and free passage through the Strait of Hormuz, advocating for a return to the pre-conflict status quo. He affirmed that Turkey is continuously engaged in contact with all relevant parties to resolve the crisis and establish peace and security in the region.
