Israel Claims Secret Talks Underway With Kuwait Following Iran Allegations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli television channel Kan 11, citing a source described as informed, has reported that Kuwait and Israel are engaged in secret negotiations. This development follows alleged Iranian attacks on regional countries, including Kuwait.

Kan 11, quoting a former Kuwaiti minister who remained unnamed, stated that cooperation between Persian Gulf countries and Israel is mutually beneficial for containing common adversaries and preserving the security and stability of these nations. The former Kuwaiti minister reportedly added that the continued attacks by Iran on Persian Gulf states, coupled with Israel’s actions to dismantle Iranian military capabilities that could be used against its neighbors, leave no room for doubt regarding the necessity of such cooperation.

This report emerges concurrently with statements made by Yossi Shelley, Israel’s ambassador to the UAE. Earlier this week, in an interview with Israel’s Kan Reshet Bet radio, Shelley claimed that another country is expected to join the Abraham Accords in the coming months, suggesting Kuwait as a potential candidate.

Separately, Eyal Zamir, Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli military, held a clandestine meeting last week in Germany with military commanders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt. According to reports from the American news site Axios and Israel’s Channel 12, the discussions at this meeting focused on the conflict with Iran and developments related to the Houthi movement in Yemen.
