US Approves Visas for Senior Iranian Officials for UN General Assembly

The United States has granted visas to senior Iranian officials to attend the United Nations General Assembly, with Washington confirming Iran’s delegation will participate in the upcoming session.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Associated Press reported that Washington has agreed to issue visas for senior Iranian officials to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

Al Jazeera, citing the Mehr News Agency, reported that the Associated Press stated Washington’s approval of visas for these officials. Reuters also reported, citing the U.S. Department of State, that the main delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be able to participate in the UN General Assembly meeting.

The reports did not specify the names of the individuals for whom visas have been issued.

In relation to this, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State told Al Jazeera that the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran will participate in the UN General Assembly session in accordance with the host country’s obligations.

The spokesperson claimed that the Iranian delegation will be smaller this year than last year and will be subject to travel restrictions. Iranian officials have not yet reacted to this news.
