Iraq’s National Armament Committee’s Timeline Unspecified, Official States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qassem Al-Araji, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s national security advisor, stated that recent reports circulating on social media regarding a specified timeframe for the activities of the weapons monopolization committee are entirely inaccurate. He clarified that no definitive deadline has been set for the government to exclusively control weaponry.

Al-Araji emphasized that once the committee, formed by the Coordination Framework and operating under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister, completes its tasks and full government monopoly over arms is achieved, any individual found in illegal possession of weapons will be dealt with according to legal regulations. Such individuals will be treated as outside the law and face stringent legal measures, comparable to the treatment of terrorists.

Furthermore, Al-Araji urged for accuracy and correctness in the reception and dissemination of news. He advised obtaining information from official sources and refraining from publishing and reposting rumors.
