Russian Parliamentary Election Turnout Surpasses 2021 Levels
Voter turnout in Russia’s parliamentary elections has exceeded the participation rate recorded in 2021, with preliminary figures indicating a significant increase in engagement as of the latest reporting. The current figures suggest a higher level of public participation compared to the previous parliamentary election.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, preliminary data from the Central Election Commission of Russia, as reported by Tas, indicates that voter turnout in the ongoing parliamentary elections has reached 52.62 percent. This figure surpasses the final turnout of 51.72 percent recorded in the 2021 State Duma elections, marking an increase of 0.9 percentage points.
As of 15:14 Moscow time (12:14 GMT), 52.62 percent of eligible voters had cast their ballots in the elections for the ninth convocation of the State Duma. Earlier reports had already confirmed that the current election’s turnout had surpassed the level registered in the 2016 elections.
