Car Bomb Targets Security Official in Daraa; Aleppo Explosion Reported

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syrian sources reported that an explosion, suspected to be caused by an improvised explosive device, struck a vehicle in a neighborhood of Al-Hirak town in the eastern countryside of Daraa. The blast resulted in substantial material damage to the vehicle and its surroundings, though no human casualties were reported. The targeted vehicle belonged to the road security official affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Interior in Al-Hirak. The perpetrators and their motives remain unknown.

This incident exacerbates security concerns in Daraa province, which has recently experienced a spate of explosions and armed attacks. In a separate development, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced an explosion at one of the Syrian army’s positions in the vicinity of Al-Eis town, south of Aleppo. This explosion did not result in any fatalities and caused limited material damage. The ministry stated that military police were deployed in the area surrounding the explosion site to ensure security, in cooperation with relevant authorities. Syrian military engineering units have begun securing the explosion site and its adjacent areas.

Earlier, media outlets reported a powerful explosion at an ammunition depot and a Syrian army headquarters in the “Al-Eis” region, located in the southern countryside of Aleppo. These reports indicated that the explosion caused considerable damage, with several individuals injured in the incident.
