UK to Refuel Saudi Jets in Yemen Conflict Amidst International Scrutiny

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Kingdom has declared it will refuel Saudi Arabian fighter jets operating against Yemen’s Ansarullah forces, thereby deepening its participation in the Yemen conflict. This development follows a prior refusal by then-President Donald Trump to grant a similar request from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Royal Air Force’s Voyager aircraft will conduct aerial refueling for Saudi jets over the coming weeks. The UK stated its decision to provide this military support was made at the request of Saudi Arabia.

London has claimed the objective behind this action is to ensure the security of the Bab el-Mandeb strait, a critical maritime passage. However, international sources indicate no disruptions to shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb strait have occurred, despite advances by Yemen’s Ansarullah forces. Saudi fighter jets have previously conducted hundreds of bombings in Yemen, targeting residential areas, schools, and mosques.
