Israeli Forces Intensify Bombardment on Southern Lebanon Amid Stalled Ceasefire Deal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli army warplanes have targeted the town of Qantara in southern Lebanon, while the occupying regime’s artillery has shelled the Wadi Zibqin area in the Sour district and the Dūḥa Kafr Rammān region. Reports also indicate that Israeli forces have used machine guns to fire on areas of Al-Mansouri and Sarbin in the Bint Jbeil district.

These escalations come as the Israeli regime initiated widespread attacks against Lebanon in early March. These aggressions have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a significant number of Lebanese citizens, displaced over a million people, and led to the occupation of parts of southern Lebanon.

It is noteworthy that in early July 2026, Lebanon and the Israeli regime signed a “Framework Agreement” to end the conflict, mediated by the United States following direct negotiations in Washington. However, the Tel Aviv regime has so far refrained from fully implementing its commitments, continuing to violate Lebanon’s sovereignty through ongoing attacks and the destruction of infrastructure and residential areas.
