Yemeni Leader Links Saudi Aims to US, Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mahdi al-Mashat, head of Yemen‘s Supreme Political Council, congratulated the Yemeni people and its armed and security forces on the 64th anniversary of the September 26 revolution. He asserted that the Saudi regime is once again testing the Yemeni people’s resolve to return the country to a state of guardianship and dependency, a goal they will never achieve.

Al-Mashat emphasized that the Saudi regime has obstructed the revolution’s objectives, which aimed to improve the living standards of the Yemeni people economically, socially, politically, and culturally. He noted that poverty, deprivation, and inequality continue to burden Yemenis, and that the revolution sought a free and independent Yemen. However, national decisions have remained subject to foreign interference and internal conflicts.

He further detailed Saudi Arabia’s direct intervention in Yemen’s internal and external affairs over the past 64 years. Al-Mashat explained that the Saudis have expanded their influence over the pillars of government and its decisions through a network of corrupt and treasonous individuals loyal to them. He stated that all sovereign decisions of the mercenary Aden government are held hostage by Saudi will, to the extent that governments are not formed and ministers and army commanders are appointed only with Saudi approval.

Al-Mashat also claimed that the Saudi regime has for decades prevented the extraction of Yemen’s oil and gas wealth and has thwarted serious efforts to build a just and powerful Yemeni state that reflects the will of its people. He added that the Saudis have consistently viewed Yemen as a sphere of influence that must remain weak and with limited capabilities, stripped of any elements of power that would enable it to play its natural role.

The head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council asserted that the Saudi approach is in full alignment with the American-Zionist project, which aims to weaken the Islamic Ummah and maintain its countries in a state of dependency and division. He stated that the Saudi regime could not have implemented these policies alone and has found many mercenaries who have betrayed their homeland and people, opening Yemen’s doors to aggression.

Al-Mashat viewed the developments in the West Coast and other areas of Yemen, specifically attacks on forces affiliated with the Saudi enemy, as embodying the principle of national sovereignty and the reclaiming of power. He described Saudi Arabia’s recent actions as desperate maneuvers, akin to the cries of a drowning person trying to mobilize and unite the world to continue its aggression and unjust siege against Yemen.

Addressing rumors about Yemeni armed forces attacking the holy city of Mecca, al-Mashat affirmed that the Yemeni people are prepared to make sacrifices for the sake of the Kaaba, just as they endured the hardships of war to support Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holy sanctuary. He reiterated Yemen’s right to defend itself against the insults and oppression from the Saudi aggressor regime and its supporters, reaffirming their principled and faithful stance in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people and their just cause.

He condemned the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu and the Zionists in storming and desecrating Al-Aqsa Mosque and threatening its destruction through tunnels dug beneath it. Al-Mashat called on all countries that have echoed Saudi Arabia’s false accusations against Yemen regarding Mecca to take practical action to support Al-Aqsa Mosque, whose sanctity is being violated by the Zionists before the eyes of the world.

The head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council reiterated that international navigation in Bab al-Mandab is secure and that Yemen adheres to its international commitments. He clarified that the operations of the armed forces exclusively target Saudi enemy gatherings and have no connection to international shipping in the strait.

Al-Mashat concluded by expressing his confirmation of and commitment to the positions articulated by Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, leader of Ansar Allah, in his recent speeches, pledging to redouble efforts on this path.
